The Case (Almost) Nobody Wanted!

"You have to help me; I can't find anyone ready to buy this risk!"

Music to an insurance broker's ears. Anyone in the brokerage business knows last-minute deals often are some of the best opportunities you can get.

But this was no ordinary case from the Dark Side.

"I have this account, an auction house that transports autos inside the auction and washes them as well."

Okay, so not so tough.

"But last year an employee stole a 750iL BMW, then three days later ran a red light, hit another vehicle and killed that driver."

Ouch! No wonder nobody wanted anything to do with it. But it was time to start dialing for dollars.

"Oh, one more thing - they were paying $5,000 last year through Nationwide, but Nationwide is non-renewing."

I spit out my coffee at that one. Then I told him if his client wasn't willing to pay $50,000 for coverage with that kind of experience, no one would be interested. The agent not only agreed, he already had come up with the same number himself.

We weren't wrong. Everyone I called wanted nothing to do with this case. To make it even more interesting, the insured wanted GL, GKLL and an umbrella to boot!

But I kept trying to convince one carrier after another. One Day, two days, three days pass, and at least some are "considering it."

The agent called me one more time: "We need the quote today or my client will have to sell his business. Please help!"

Two hours later we got the quote. Fifteen minutes after that a binder request followed.

This case tested us better than most, but the result was the same - another case placed, and our broker was the man of the hour with his client.

Meghan and I are here to help you. If you have a risk - no matter how impossible it may seem - give us the opportunity to help.
