Regular Reviews Critical to Best Nonsubscriber Plans

Since Anchor Claims Management began handling nonsubscriber claims more than 20 years ago we have determined that the companies with the most successful nonsubscriber programs are the ones that take an active role in managing their claims.

Sound like a contradiction, coming from a third party administrator? It's not, and here's why.  While Anchor Claims handles all the required work, it is vital that employers stay current with the status of all pending and recently settled claims.

We do the process work so employers have the information necessary to make good decisions.

Schedule Regular Plan Reviews

Our experience also has shown that we can help employers stay involved by conducting regular claim reviews with them. In most cases we recommend quarterly reviews, although semi-annual reviews may be sufficient for some clients.

Here's what we look at together during reviews:

  • Circumstances and causes of accidents
  • Medical diagnoses
  • Return to work options
  • Future claims handling options
  • Current reserves

We also review the overall claims history:

  • Past three years of loss history
  • Bill Review savings report
  • Trends in claims history
  • Review of payments and providers

By having full command of the facts, coupled with insights regarding possible trends, employers are in position to take preventive or early corrective action before potentially bigger problems have a chance to develop.

The process feeds on itself: we also get to know our clients better each time we site down for a review, which enables us to do a better job administering their programs day-to-day.
